Sniffer is the tracking hound pet of the Tracker, he made a couple of appearences in Season 1 before gaining increased promience alongside his Master in the first half of Season 2.

Appearance

Sniffer resembles a dark Dobermann with glowing yellow eyes. This appearance of a hell-hound corresponds with his master's undead appearance, though it isn't specifically stated if either Sniffer or the Tracker are undead.

Plot

Sniffer first appeared in The Labyrinth working with Tracker after Phobos discovered that not only were Will and Caleb (the leader of the Guardians and rebels respectively) on meridian but the remaining guardians too. Suspecting that the four elemental guardians were in their human forms Phobos sent Tracker and Sniffer after them. The duo quickly found them at a gathering in a local village sending the populace running and the 4 girls running for the woods. After running and hiding failed to keep them safe Cornelia, Hay Lin, Irma and Taranee climbed a tree to escape Sniffer's jaws and Tracker's flail. Though the mutant dog could climb the lower portions of the tree the guardians climbed out of his reach. Unfortuntely for the terrible twosome Will arrived changing her friends into their powerful alter-egos. Subsquent to his master's defeat at the hands of Cornelia, Sniffer charged upon Caleb who was holding the formers's weapon. Upon Cornelia seeing this she manifested a branch from the tree she'd just created to trap Tracker that grabbed the canine and lifted him high off the ground. The Guardians left the two dangling where they could not harm anyone.

Sniffer is never shown far away from his master. He was last shown taking part in the assault made by Phobos' forces toward Kandrakar.^[1]. While the Tracker was killed, it's not known what ultimately happened to Sniffer.^[2] Given the fact that his master's bats died along with him, the hound could have shared the same fate. If he survived, he was likely reimprisoned in the Infinite City along with the rest of the unrepentant villains.

Powers & abilities

Sniffer's keen sense of smell is a great asset to the Tracker in his hunts of targets, even across dimensions.^[3] Based on appereance alone Sniffer's teeth are quite sharp. Sniffer has also shown an incredible amount of duarbility having been dragged by Crimson a fair distance and having no known injuries.^[4]
