Darrell Vickers is an English-Canadian TV producer and writer based in the United States. He served as co-showrunner with Andrew Nicholls (officially credited as "supervisory producers") for season 1 of the TV series, and also co-wrote 11 episodes of the season, including the first 5 episodes as well as the finale.
Outside the W.I.T.C.H. franchise, he is primarily known for his other television writing collaborations with Nicholls. Together they served as the head writers of the final years of The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, and also produced and wrote for a number of Canadian animated series.
Behind the scenes
- Vickers briefly discusses working on the TV series in a multi-part reflection on his career, highlighting an executive objection to "imitable behavior" that was also mentioned in Nicholls' book Valuable Lessons.[1][2]
- The scene with the Guardians saving a train actually made it into the episode The Stone of Threbe, with Taranee nearly being hit by the oncoming train while repairing the tracks.
- A Service to The Community also had them walking along train tracks to find a portal.
